One of the biggest challenges facing people waiting on the organ donor list for a heart is the lack of viable organs available. This often leads to not only long wait times on the list, but people losing their lives because they don’t get a heart in time. But scientists and researchers are making important advancements that could change the outcome for the many people who are waiting on organ donation lists. This past spring, Luhan Yang presented her research at the TED 2018 conference regarding how to create a world where no one dies waiting for a transplant.
